Introduction
Throughout the last few years, I have learned a lot of new skills that will help me in my future career. If I were to take all of it and consolidate it into one emerging skill it would be the ability to program the functionality of video games. This includes many things such as movement systems, AI behavior and UI systems. Due to the nature of video games being computer programs, I use many different programming languages depending on the project to tell the program what to do at any given time. This was my goal throughout my four years in college, and I made a huge push towards achieving that goal. The three projects below will help paint a picture of how much I have progressed so far.
Unreal Project
Health Guru (Honors Experience)
C++ Project
Reflection
As you can see, based on my progression through these 3 projects, my proficiency in gameplay programming has dramatically increased. From initially starting off with hardly any knowledge of making 2D games to making a 2D engine from scratch, I have learned a lot about how games are made and how to make them myself. As time goes on, I am striving to further develop these skills to make even better games in the future.
